Education Requirements

  • Secondary (High) School Graduation Certificate or equivalent experience.

Experience Requirements

  • 1 to less than 7 months of experience in a roofing, construction, or labor-intensive role.

On-site Work

This is a hands-on, on-site job. The roofer helper is required to work outdoors at the employer’s physical location and travel to various job sites. There is no option for remote work, and tasks must be completed in diverse weather conditions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist roofers in the installation, repair, and maintenance of roofing systems.
  • Prepare materials, tools, and equipment for roofing projects.
  • Assist with the set-up and tear-down of scaffolding and ladders.
  • Handle roofing materials, including shingles, tiles, and metal sheets.
  • Remove debris and clean up job sites after projects are completed.
  • Ensure adherence to safety protocols and wear proper safety gear at all times.
  • Help with waterproofing and applying protective coatings to roofing systems.

Specific Tasks

  • Transport and handle roofing materials to and from job sites.
  • Assist in lifting and positioning roofing materials on roofs.
  • Clean and maintain job sites, including removing debris and hazardous materials.
  • Set up ladders, scaffolds, and safety equipment to ensure a secure working environment.
  • Support roofers by holding materials in place while they are secured.
  • Perform basic repairs or apply protective coatings under supervision.

  • Strong physical stamina and the ability to handle physically demanding tasks.
  • Ability to work at heights comfortably and safely.
  • Basic understanding of safety practices in construction environments.

Education
