On-site 

  • All work must be completed at the physical location. There is no option for remote work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Organize and prioritize tasks to accomplish work efficiently
  • Oversee and optimize the operational logistics of the dealership
  • Plan and implement strategies to improve logistics operations
  • Coordinate activities with other departments, including sales, service, and parts
  • Prepare and submit comprehensive reports on logistics performance and key metrics
  • Arrange for maintenance and repair work of logistics equipment and facilities
  • Train new workers in logistics duties and company policies
  • Arrange ongoing training and development for logistics staff
  • Coordinate, assign, and review the work of the logistics team
  • Requisition or order materials, equipment, and supplies for the department
  • Organize and maintain accurate inventory of vehicles, parts, and supplies
  • Develop and implement cost-saving measures in logistics operations
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and safety standards
  • Collaborate with management to set and achieve departmental goals
  • Implement and maintain quality control processes in logistics operations

Tasks:

  • Develop and maintain efficient systems for vehicle receiving, storage, and delivery
  • Coordinate with manufacturers and transporters for timely vehicle deliveries
  • Optimize space utilization in the dealership lot and warehouses
  • Implement and oversee inventory management systems for vehicles and parts
  • Coordinate with sales team to ensure timely preparation and delivery of sold vehicles
  • Manage logistics for inter-dealership transfers and customer vehicle transportation
  • Oversee the maintenance of logistics-related equipment, including forklifts and transport vehicles
  • Conduct regular audits of inventory and logistics processes
  • Analyze logistics data to identify trends and areas for improvement
  • Implement sustainable practices in logistics operations to reduce environmental impact

Supervision

  • Directly supervise a team of 5-10 logistics staff members
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback to team members
  • Mentor and develop staff to promote career growth within the organization
  • Address and resolve any conflicts or issues within the logistics team
  • Ensure adherence to company policies and procedures among team members

Qualifications:

  • College diploma or certificate in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field
  • 1-2 years of experience in a supervisory role, preferably in the automotive industry
  • Strong knowledge of logistics principles and best practices
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate a team
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • Proficiency in logistics software and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
  • Forklift certification is an asset
  • Knowledge of automotive industry regulations and standards
  • Experience with lean management principles is preferred

  • Capable of lifting to 25 lbs occasionally
  • Comfortable working in various weather conditions when necessary (e.g., lot inspections)
  • Visual acuity to inspect vehicles and read documentation

Work Environment: The Logistics Supervisor will primarily work in an office setting within the dealership, with frequent visits to the lot, warehouses, and other operational areas. The role involves a mix of desk work and active supervision of logistics operations. You may occasionally be required to work outside of regular business hours to address urgent logistics matters or during peak periods.
