Key Responsibilities
The Construction Helper will perform a variety of tasks to assist skilled tradespeople and contribute to the completion of construction projects. Your key responsibilities include:
- Loading, unloading, and transporting construction materials to and from the worksite.
- Erecting and dismantling concrete forms, scaffolding, ramps, catwalks, shoring, and barricades as required.
- Assisting in drilling and blasting rock for construction purposes.
- Cleaning, salvaging, and piling construction materials for reuse or disposal.
- Removing rubble, debris, and hazardous materials from the construction site to maintain cleanliness and safety.
- Assisting in setting up and dismantling temporary structures as needed.
- Helping with the operation of basic tools and machinery under supervision.
- Following safety protocols and ensuring the construction site is secure at all times.
- Contributing to environmentally conscious practices by managing waste, reducing material usage, and supporting green building initiatives.
Tasks
As a Construction Helper, you will be responsible for carrying out the following tasks:
- Load and unload construction materials at the site and transport them to where they are needed.
- Erect and dismantle scaffolding, concrete forms, and other temporary structures.
- Assist with drilling and blasting activities, helping to prepare areas for excavation.
- Clean up the worksite by piling salvaged materials and removing debris.
