Overview
Direct Coil Inc., located in Bath, Ontario, is seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineering Technologist to join their dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be proficient in CAD software, possess a strong understanding of mechanical systems, and have extensive experience in manufacturing environments.

Key Responsibilities
- Create manufacturing instructions: Develop detailed manufacturing instructions to ensure smooth production processes.
- Create user manuals: Write and update user manuals for equipment and systems produced by the company.
- Assist in design: Collaborate in the design of moulds, tools, dies, jigs, and fixtures necessary for manufacturing processes.
- Mechanical testing: Conduct mechanical tests and analyses of machines, components, and materials, ensuring they meet the required standards.
- Prepare engineering documents: Prepare and interpret design drawings, technical specifications, standards, and production schedules.
- Testing of machines and equipment: Test mechanical machines and equipment for quality assurance and performance validation.
- Collaboration in design preparation: Assist in preparing design documents, drawings, and detailed specifications for new or modified products.

- Prepare and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and schedules.
- Perform mechanical tests and analyses on equipment and systems.
- Estimate project costs, materials, and required resources.
- Develop user manuals and operational instructions.
- Use AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and other CAD tools to create mechanical designs.
- Collaborate on research and development projects to improve efficiency and performance.
Qualifications
- Educational background: College diploma or certificate from a program of 1 to 2 years in mechanical engineering technology or a related field.
- Experience: 5 years or more in mechanical engineering, HVAC systems, or a related field.
- Technical skills: Proficiency in 3D graphic software, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and other relevant software. Knowledge of programmable logic controllers (PLC) is an asset.
- Mechanical expertise: Experience with HVAC systems, refrigeration, compressors, turbines, and drafting.
- Attention to detail: Strong focus on precision and accuracy in all technical and design work.
- Organizational skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet tight deadlines, and maintain organized records.
- Communication skills: Excellent written and oral communication skills for effective collaboration and reporting.
Education
- College diploma or certificate in mechanical engineering technology or a related field (1 to 2 years).

- 5 years or more of experience in mechanical engineering technology, focusing on HVAC systems, refrigeration, compressors, and manufacturing environments.
