The Retail Sales Clerk will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service and assisting with daily operations within a retail environment. The job requires on-site presence at the physical location in a retail clothing store, with no option for remote work.
Key Responsibilities
As a Retail Sales Clerk, you will be an integral part of the store’s daily operations. You will interact with customers, assist in merchandising, and ensure that sales transactions are handled efficiently. The following are your key responsibilities:
- Operating the cash register and handling various forms of payment, including cash, debit, and credit transactions.
- Providing knowledgeable advice to customers about the products, including details on quality, features, and available options.
- Offering excellent customer service by addressing customer inquiries, providing information, and helping them make purchasing decisions.
- Assisting in creating attractive product displays to enhance sales and make merchandise more appealing to customers.
- Greeting and engaging customers as they enter the store, and ensuring their shopping experience is positive and welcoming.
- Discussing merchandise with customers, and helping them select items based on their preferences for type, quality, and quantity.
- Maintaining accurate sales records to ensure proper inventory management and replenishment.
Tasks
Your role as a Retail Sales Clerk involves performing the following tasks regularly:
- Operate the cash register to complete customer transactions.
- Provide customers with advice and recommendations about merchandise.
- Assist in setting up and maintaining product displays in the store.
- Greet customers, determine their needs and offer assistance in selecting products.
- Record sales and keep inventory data updated for efficient stock control.
- Help maintain cleanliness and order in the store by organizing merchandise and performing basic housekeeping duties.
